Elgin, SC

Untreated Water Damage

If water damage is left untreated on your Elgin, South Carolina property, mold will quickly begin to grow. When given the right environment, mold can grow and spread as quickly as 24 hours. In addition to mold, there are a handful of other damages that can occur when water damage is untreated.

Structural Damage

If water damage is left untreated structural damage may occur to your Elgin home or business. The extent of the damages will depend on how much water is in the affected area and the drywall will begin to deteriorate.

Decreased Property Value

If your Elgin property has experienced any kind of water damage that has been untreated your property value will begin to decrease. When an appraiser comes to review and inspect the property, he or she will notice water damage stains, no matter how many layers of paint were layered on top of the stain. Due to this, you will likely have to replace and restore all of the water damages.

Mold

Mold growth is one of the biggest concerns when dealing with water damage. When mold spores are provided a moist environment and organic material, like wood, drywall, insulation, etc., mold can grow as quickly as 24 hours. If left untreated for an extended period, the mold will spread which will pose health hazards.

Our Water Damage Restoration Process

At First Response we are committed to restoring your home and giving you back your peace of mind. So, we have created and perfected a water damage restoration process that can easily be altered and adjusted to satisfy all water damage cleanup cases. Our process begins with an inspection of all of the damages. During the inspection, we will asses and make note of all of the damages, then will create a specific plan to restore your Elgin property. Next, we will remove the standing water and begin the drying process. The drying process could take several days or weeks to complete, but it is crucial to confirm the affected area is fully dry before moving onto the next step. Once the area is fully dried, we will clean and sanitize the area, then use an antimicrobial treatment to prevent future mold growth. Finally, we will replace all items that were removed, and restore your home back to its original state, prior to the water damage.

First class service! My only regret was not calling them 4 or 5 hours earlier. Brian, Chris, and team were quick to assess the situation and work with me on a custom remediation plan. They explained everything, including pros and cons of the various options, clearly and completely. I hope I never need this type of service again. But, if I do, I know who to call.

First Response did a superior job of remediating water damage to my home. They were the second company that I called but the only one that I will call in the future. They take their jobs seriously and completely understand the meaning and value of delivering outstanding service. Not only did they correct the problems created by the first remediation company, but they went above and beyond to ensure that their work was done properly and expertly. Robert and Josh and the entire team earn my highest recommendations for service and expertise.

May 31, 2012 my husband and I were notified that we were being forced to move out of our home, at no fault of our own. Needless to say, this news caused a lot of stress for us! My employer, Robert Pulliam - President of First Response, understood the emotions I was going through and offered the company's services to assist in the process of moving. He also allowed me the time off needed to prepare for the move. My husband and I worked diligently over the next month to have everything packed up and ready to be moved out. On the afternoon of June 29th, Robert and a couple of our co-workers came to our home and moved everything out. It was such a tremendous blessing to have the extra man-power!! First Response has extraordinary leadership and support staff, and I am certainly proud to be part of such an amazing group of people!
