Indeed, according to ABC News, 4 out of 5 natural disasters that devastated the US in 2018 are water-related. However, let us not underestimate the effect of something, which might look not as threatening (like broken pipes and sewage backups) but still poses great risks to our property.

Determining the category of water is important for choosing the right water damage restoration plan. There are three categories of water damage:

1 – «Clear» water poses no risk to humans.

What To Do If You Have Water Damage

  1. Address water restoration experts immediately after your house was flooded or experienced water damage of another kind: it is essential to begin the process of water damage mitigation as soon as possible.
  2. Make sure that the electricity and gas supply to the house is cut-off in order to avoid potentially dangerous injuries.
  3. Before you enter the building, check if there is no threat of any object or structures falling down.
  4. Check the condition of electrical wiring, gas supply pipelines, plumbing, and sewage. Please do not use them until specialists arrive.

Water Restoration Services

Before starting a restoration process, it is necessary to conduct a general assessment of the state of the house structure: the state of the walls and the foundation, the presence of cracks, distortions, bends, the state of doors, windows and floor coverings.

Then, the following steps normally follow:

Water Removal

First of all, it is necessary to remove excess water from your house. Our specialists are equipped with special pumps so that all water can be removed.

Drying

After the liquid is removed, much water remains trapped in the soaked surfaces like drywall and flooring. One of the methods to eliminate all excess water is using air dryers causing enhanced evaporation of moisture from the surface layers of wall coverings, the floor, and furniture.

Cleaning and Deodorization

Specialists from Trust First Response will remove dirt from the floor and walls. Antiseptic and other antibacterial agents should be applied even on parts of the interior which were not affected to prevent the appearance of mold.

Insufficient drying or poor-quality disinfection can serve as a source for the development of fungus and mold, which may cause a direct threat to the health of the inhabitants of the house. Trust First Response is a reliable and experienced contractor so you may be sure that everything is done at the highest level.

First class service! My only regret was not calling them 4 or 5 hours earlier. Brian, Chris, and team were quick to assess the situation and work with me on a custom remediation plan. They explained everything, including pros and cons of the various options, clearly and completely. I hope I never need this type of service again. But, if I do, I know who to call.

First Response did a superior job of remediating water damage to my home. They were the second company that I called but the only one that I will call in the future. They take their jobs seriously and completely understand the meaning and value of delivering outstanding service. Not only did they correct the problems created by the first remediation company, but they went above and beyond to ensure that their work was done properly and expertly. Robert and Josh and the entire team earn my highest recommendations for service and expertise.

May 31, 2012 my husband and I were notified that we were being forced to move out of our home, at no fault of our own. Needless to say, this news caused a lot of stress for us! My employer, Robert Pulliam - President of First Response, understood the emotions I was going through and offered the company's services to assist in the process of moving. He also allowed me the time off needed to prepare for the move. My husband and I worked diligently over the next month to have everything packed up and ready to be moved out. On the afternoon of June 29th, Robert and a couple of our co-workers came to our home and moved everything out. It was such a tremendous blessing to have the extra man-power!! First Response has extraordinary leadership and support staff, and I am certainly proud to be part of such an amazing group of people!
